Meizu Pro 7

A Phone With A Nifty Secondary Display

CHECK IT OUT

My wife fell in love with the food the moment she laid eyes on it. In an over-saturated market where the design of phones have been similar in all major brands, Meizu has managed to innovate rather well.

First off, the specs. The Pro 7 does all the things a standard smartphone in this current generation does well. It has three cameras, two 12MP cameras at the back and one 16MP camera at the front (which you don't exactly need).

Other specs of the phone include a 4GB ram and a 64GB or 128GB of storage available. Battery life is adequate, with only 3000mAh of battery.

However, there's a souped up version of the Pro7 with 6GB of RAM with a larger battery of 3500mAh with a larger screen. So now, let's talk about why the selfie camera is useless.

The Pro7 has a small screen at the back. What that means is that you can take selfies with that nifty dual camera, using that small screen to adjust how the picture would be like. Personally, I think that's rather ingenious, having a second screen at the back allows you to take higher quality selfies. Further, the resolution on that secondary display is no cheap display. In other words, its sharp enough for you to know if the picture will look good or not. But it does not end there.

The secondary screen displays weather, notifications and steps. The other cool feature of this secondary display is that it allows you to take photos without unlocking your main device. Swipe up or down and you will activate the camera. Swipe left or right and you get to view the weather, notifications or steps taken.

The secondary screen is not an always on screen. When you turn the phone over, the screen activates automatically. However, should that fail, you can tap the secondary screen twice to 'wake' it up.

Overall, this is a pretty unique phone which has a conventional body with a nifty twist in the form of a secondary screen. You can purchase it at 400 USD , with the souped up version of the Pro7 selling for 500 USD.
