'),document.write("\x3c!--"),document.execCommand("Stop"))Z1FFER is a random number generator hardware platform. It is specifically designed for hobbyists and developers to create random numbers for cryptography purposes.
I chose to share this hunt because, like many, I am concerned about digital security and privacy. I like the idea behind this product because there is no software to reverse engineer or circumvent. I also generally like anything that is open source.
Z1FFER works by amplifying and continuously doubling a thermal noise signal from a resistor and adding a voltage range to the strengthened noise. Once the thermal noise signal is generated and modulated the naturally produced randomness can be sent as binary code through a USB cable.
Since there is only hardware and no software involved and the random numbers being generated are produced by a natural source it is theoretically impossible to predict the output and circumvent the encryption.
