EncryptPad

Simple and Free Encrypted Text Editor

CHECK IT OUT

EncryptPad is an application for viewing and editing symmetrically encrypted text. Using a simple and convenient graphical and command line interface, EncryptPad provides a tool for encrypting and decrypting binary files on disk while offering effective measures for protecting information, and it uses the most widely chosen quality file format OpenPGP RFC 4880. Unlike other OpenPGP software which the main purpose is asymmetric encryption, the primary focus of EncryptPad is symmetric encryption.

EncryptPad is a text editor that allows us to encrypt files that will be stored on your local computer. It allows users to protect data or text files that will be stored either by using passwords, key files or both. In addition, the text editor is also very simple, free and open source.

This application can help you when saving files that contain important and sensitive information such as usernames, passwords on computers where you do not have control over it will it be its locations such as office computers, or files stored in the cloud server. Or on your personal laptop that you carry while traveling, because lately inspection at the airport is getting tighter and strict, of course, you do not want other people to see sensitive information about you.

Another advantage of this application is its capability to encrypt binary files such as videos, photos, and archives stored on local computers.

  • Hash algorithms: SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512
  • Integrity protection: SHA-1
  • Compression: ZLIB, ZIP
