Unlike the Snapdragon X50, the X55 will support all major frequencies (mmWave or sub-6GHz), different modes (FDD / TDDs) and different telecommunication providers infrastructure to fully cover any 5G network.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G modem promises download speeds of up to 7Gbps and upload to 3Gbps while being energy efficient thanks to the adaptability of its QTM525 antenna. The modem consists of 5G mmWave antenna (QTM525), RF transceiver for 5G sub-6GHz and 4G LTE networks, and RF front-end modules sub-6GHz to support all frequencies on a global scale.
Devices manufacturers already have Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 samples, expected to be used on laptops, connected PCs, tablets, VR / AR, smartphones, and more.
