What is BOINC?

BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) is a project created in 2002 at the Univesity of California that allows anyone use its own personal computer unused resources to download and help process data colected by the SETI Project, but nowdays, there is a lot of of other projects, like helping find a cure to cancer or mapping genomes.
