MAKERPhone is an ideal solution for students and enthusiasts who want to take their engineering skills to next level. It is a fully-functional mobile phone that you can consider as a bare bone piece on top of which you can code as you want.

You can develop apps and games that can interact with hardware and even yourself play with the hardware of device. Support programming languages are Python, Adruino and Scratch.

It features a colored screen, audio output, SIM card slot etc. So majority of the features expected in a full-fledged phone are available on this educational device.

MAKERphone teaches you REAL electronics and core mobile phone programming. As the phone is a DIY device, all modules are provided separately that can be combined and formed as a working phone.

The project is live on Kickstarter for funding.
