What a cute robot developed by Misty Robotic. But this robot are not for kids.
Misty II is an upgrade from Misty I which serve the same purpose.
The main purpose of Misty II is to help developer to code robotic features such as environment mapping, navigation, exploration, etc, without worrying on the robotic details / components.
As the tech spec stated, Misty II comes with:
- 4k camera for face and object recognition
- 3 far-field microphones
- time-of-flight obstacle avoidance sensors on front & back
- bump sensor
- two Snapdragon processors
- 4.3" LCD display for displaying a face
- USB and serial ports
- Windows 10 IoT Core & Android
The bot moves with thread-base drive system / tank threads, which is kinda cool.
For me, would be better if it uses wheel for movement.
In a nutshell, you are the one that decide what you can build with Misty II.
Pro:
- Complete set of robotic function & component
- Two type of OS for developer to test their code on
- tons of sensors
Con:
- Not sure does Misty II able to deliver what been expected by developers
