Organize your inner universe by mapping your mind

What is mind-mapping and when do you need to do it?
It's basically a braindump of important things (ideas, usually) that you are trying to take action on but maybe you're stuck because you don't see the connection ... yet. A good mind-map helps you draw the links between seemingly disparate and disconnected ideas so you can forge ahead and make that roadmap!

It can be a dump of your own mind or someone else's.

It's great if someone hires you to, say, gather business requirements or gather a long list of features that they need help analyzing, as if you're some kind of secretary-analyst-tech product wiz.

Or, if you're writing a story and the characters are sloshing around in your head but you don't know how to tie together the aunt-and-nephew "romance" with the antagonist's inner conflict over a cowardly father, this map could be what you need to see to make it all tie together.

Essentially, mind-mapping is a great way to organize ideas that don't follow a logical progression, like a recipe, or a to-do list of tasks where everything follows some sequential order, like what to do if you are trying to buy a used car (checklist).

If you're an abstract thinker or a high-level person, smile and do some mind-mapping. Don't let those small-minded low-level detailed people get you down with their minutaie.

This app has animated transitions which shows the flow of ideas and their connections and map elements are arranged as orbitals.

Use this tool to organize your big thoughts!
