quite simply we are going through a revolution in the ability to make content, story tell if you will on the go and the price is coming down and the market is heating up -- whoever you get behind, whatever brand and for whatever reason technology is getting faster, smaller, cheaper.

what would normally take years to filter back to the brands is now getting shorter time frames, new technology is bought and intergrated faster than ever, new cameras, new cpu's, new power saving incredible screens and newer battery technology is on the way -- companies know that we spending a massive amount of time on these always on us, always in front of us devices, we are hooked and they want nothing more to be the ones to provide that hook.

for me, the crucial thing is speed and a good camera -- we could debate the best unison and marriage between software and hardware till the cows come home (uk expression) i'd say that probably the king to do this is apple with their amazing custom chips and custom software to get the most out of their hardware at a software level.

but that's not always gonna be the case, when apple go wide, other companies go small and niche, honing into features that people wanted in their previous phone and that they see their friends with other brands have -- they have to compete. they have to bring their A+ game to the table.

even thou it's probably grainy 4k on these small lenses the fact that we can record something at 60 fps on a device we carry on our pocket means we are living already in the future!
