Platypus

i had no idea how hugely powerful python3 actually was and how much open source software there was out there until i really dug deep, once i had all the elements needed to get some of these github programs running i was away! :)

Platypus is a developer tool that creates native Mac applications from command line scripts such as shell scripts or Perl, Ruby and Python programs. This is done by wrapping the script in a macOS application bundle along with an executable binary that runs the script

so just in case the whole 'electron' cross platform thing does not work out i know i can at least build something locally and then package it together to send across, obviously i will have to build instructions to install a local copy of python and such like but it could be a good starting block to building the first version
