'),document.write("\x3c!--"),document.execCommand("Stop"))DLike is a pinterest-like front-end build on the Steem blockchain. Like Pinterest, you post links of articles and images that you like on the internet.
Similar to (and inspired by) Steemhunt, DLike has it's own ABV token called DWorth. DWorth ranks the posts based on the popularity of the user who submitted the content... so a user with 4000 followers will earn more DWorth tokens than a brand new user who posts similar content.
Obviously sharing links is low effort content... and there has already been a lot of discussion about whether any of this type of content should be rewarded at all... but I personally think this is an important step towards changing Steem from being a blogging platform where everyone is a creator and no one is a consumer, to more of a social media platform. Most people aren't content creators... and most content creators are too busy doing their own thing to really support anyone else. @dlike is a means to provide an avenue for ordinary Social Media users to make some money on the Steem blockchain.
This is a huge step on the path to mass adoption of Steem.
Obviously this can be abused, with a trillion spammy posts, but the followers element is important... and while I know lots of spam account have managed to trick newbies into following them, anyone who is truly interested in the blockchain stops following them pretty quickly.
