Light-reflecting balloon catheter

A special catheter that can patch holes in the septum of the heart with the help of a UV-activated adhesive.

The catheter contains two balloons which are inflated on both sides of the hole, thereby firmly pressing the patch, The adhesive surface of patch is latter activated via UV light which causes a tight seal. The patch gets replaced by natural healing tissues and automatically dissolves over time.

This whole procedure is non-invasive and can be performed on beating hearts.
