ReGen Villages

ReGen Villages is the 2016 Singularity University's Global Challenge Award winner in the Shelter category. Since that win, she has gone on to plan and secure permits for the construction of self-sufficient, resilient, off-the-grid residences in several sites in Europe - mainly in the Netherlands and Scandinavia.

The ReGen Villages model is based on the following key regenerative design principles:

1. Fully integrated holistic system where the outputs of a component in the system becomes the input for another - regeneration
2. Key components include: energy-neutral to positive homes, reliance on harvested and stored renewable energy, on-site organic food production based on aeroponics/aquaponics vertical farming, local water and waste management, etc.
3. The use of applied technology seeks to empower people in a community to embrace nature and sync consumption to production levels.

It is a template for housing and feeding a growing global population.
