Into The Breach

Into the Breach is a relatively unknown pearl of tactical games. If you have enjoyed classics like Tactics Ogre or Final Fantasy Tactics in the past, look no more. Into the Breach plays like a mix of the games mentioned above + Faster than light.

You start the game by choosing your mech squad (each mech squad consists of 3 different mechs that compliment each other) and a pilot (each pilot has different traits that make you stronger).

The gameplay, even though repetetive by nature as in all roguelikes, is very rich. Each mission has randomly generated enemies, quests, citizen buildings that you have to protect and maps that you can interact with - by pushing enemies into a lake, a mountain or by attacking a sand tile where he stands to blind him.

The game has a lot of replayability. All of the playable squads require a different mindset, approach and have different power spikes. Even an experienced player might take a while until he finally succeeds on a Hard difficulty - and then, there's dozens of achievements to unlock with all of the squads.

Into the breach is a pretty niche game, but it's definitely worth trying.
