Apeel

"Apeel" is a new product from Apeel Sciences, a US based agritech company, targeted at reducing global food waste by extending the shelf life of perishable food items.

Apeel is basically a thin "peel" derived from edible plant based material, and applied on the exterior of the food item in consideration. What that does is keep moisture locked inside, keep food fresh and prevent oxidation - thereby reducing spoilage of food. It basically uses principles of nature to solve a great problem.
