The echo show features a 7in LCD touchscreen, which lets alexa play videos as well as music. That might not sound very useful for a living room device, but it's ideal for kitchen, where you cooking pasta or pizza.

Browsing and selecting videos involves a degree scrolling around with the touchscreen, so you lose the effortness of voice control. THe range of content is dissapoingly narror too. Amazon Prime members have the run of the Prime Video library, but threr's no Netflix or Youtube.

When not streaming video, the screen acts as an information display supporting Alexa's spoken responses with text and images. Some 3rd party skills take things further the Allreceipes skill, e.g. shows step-by-step guides to creating thousands of culnary masterpieces.

If you have a compatibility camera, you can also turn into its feed with a simple voice command. and the Show's own built-in camera can b used for two-way video calls with other Echo Show .

Finnaly when sitting idle, the show display upcoming appointments, news updates and so on. However it is not very cusmisable, thus kinda annoying you can't even tell it to use the 24-hour clock
