Adobe XD

The future of experience design

CHECK IT OUT

So here's a tool I use on a daily basis, with only a limited design background I needed a tool which I could use to rapidly prototype ideas for my companies development team, I found Adobe XD and I've been using it ever since.

The reason I favour this over other prototyping tools is the simplicity of the application, Adobe XD makes it easy to create and prototype applications and is easy to pick up if you've ever used any of the other Adobe offerings.

In terms of feature set, it has a similar feature that the majority of other prototyping tools offer, symbols, layers, grids, etc. They have a good method for prototyping and make it easy to share design specs, prototypes and collaborate throughout your team. It also offers the repeat grid, something I use regularly and something which is missed when I use other tools.

Doesn't have the plugins like its rival, Sketch, and the community providing resource is still growing, it's come along way in the past year and you can already find a lot of useful kits, resources and advice online.

Price wise, it's one of Adobes more reasonable tools and I only pay around £10 a month for it. They also offer an unpaid plan which has various restrictions.

Overall worth a look if you haven't seen it already. If you like Adobe products you'll like this and if it's something you want to give a go, the free plan won't set you back anything.
