GUMSHOE

Stylish leather shoes with eco-friendly, recyled gum soles

CHECK IT OUT

The world’s first pair of sneakers with soles made from chewing gum. The soles of these shoes by Gumsole are made from chewing gum scraped from the streets of Amsterdam. In the Netherlands, 1.5 tonnes of gum ends up on the street every year, making chewing gum the second most common litter after cigarettes. Without an alternative use, the gum normally ends up in landfills after numerous labour hours spent getting them off the streets.

Thanks to Science, this gum can now be recycled and remanufactured into a new type of rubber, which is then refashioned into a stylish shoe. Very cool concept! And very good for the environment too.

Officially, this makes Gumshoe the sole solution for a sticky problem.
