'),document.write("\x3c!--"),document.execCommand("Stop"))I bought myself a Klymit Intertia X frame a year ago, as part of my ultralight overnight hiking set up, and below I outline the key design features of this seriously well engineered piece of kit.
Minimalist design - the Klymit X frame weighs in at a feather-light 241 grams, and packs down to just 3" by 6".
Body Mapping - Klymit have used body patterning to put padding where you need it (more around the head for example), and cut out anything you don't need. As a result the X-Frame is surprisingly comfortable given its slim line profile.
Loft Pockets - the mat is designed for use inside a sleeping bag, which means that the 'gaps' in the mat become loft pockets - your sleeping bag 'lofts' into them, providing you with extra insulation over a regular sleeping mat.
inflation and deflation - the Klymit X-Frame inflates in next to no time thanks to the dual breath and hand-pump inflation mechanisms, although the later is necessary to give it a really good pump, so effectively it's a little bigger than a soda can all-in, when packed.
This product retails for around $69.95, you get the hand pump and usual 'emergency patch kit' with it, and it comes with a manufacture's lifetime warranty!
The X frame is one of the lightest mats on the market, but Klymit also do a more luxurious range of still lightweight, but slightly heavier mats if you're happy to add on a few grams for a bit more padding (which isn't strictly necessary IMO).
